Shakespeare in the Parking Lot
(Broome St. b/w Essex & Ludlow Sts.; www.shakespeareintheparkinglot.com)
Shakespeare in the Parking Lot is a great summertime tradition on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. From Thursday-Saturday, visitors can enjoy free Shakespeare performances in the municipal parking lot on Broome Street. Watch Love’s Labour’s Lost which will run from July 8th–July 24th and Julius Caesar from July 29th-August 14th. Because “Shakespeare in the Parking Lot” is in its 19th season of production and wildly popular, the seating is limited so come early, bring snacks and a blanket and settle down to watch one of history’s oldest storytellers launch into a magnificent tale.
