Halloween Extravaganza and Procession of Ghouls
The Halloween Extravaganza and Procession of Ghouls takes place at Cathedral of St. John the Divine and is a true New York Halloween tradition. The event begins with a screening of an old silent horror film accompanied by organ music. Visitors can wear their costumes while enjoying the following Grand Procession of the Ghouls featuring amazing costumes, effects and creatures.
The Village’s Halloween Parade
The annually held Village Halloween Parade is one of New York’s most impressive displays of costuming for Halloween. The Village Halloween Parade begins at 7p.m. and goes from 6th Ave. & Spring St. through 21st Street. Visitors are welcome to watch the parade from the sidelines or participate in the march.
Halloween in Central Park 2009
New York favorite Central Park is going to be hosting a number of exciting events for the entire family and adult only events to celebrate Halloween. Some of the activities include a parade, pumpkin carving, a haunted castle and an array of crafts. See below for more information.
Boo at The Zoo

Halloween Pumpkin Sail

This family friendly event is filled with crafts, candy, music and storytelling. As the sun sets in the Park, visitors can send their lit up, carved pumpkins across the Halem Meer. Don’t forget to dress in your costume!
Spooks at Belvedere Castle

Central Park’s personal spooky castle is transformed into a walk of terror full of ghosts, ghouls and night creatures. Free treats to those who are brave enough to get through!
Steampunk Haunted House
The Henry Street Settlement Playhouse will be transformed this Halloween into an amazing maze designed to frighten visitors. The Steampunk Haunted House will run from Wednesday, October 28 – Saturday October 31, 2009. Children under 8 not admitted!
The NYC Great Pumpkin Walk
On October 24, 2009, strut your stuff in Central Park while wearing your costume to lend support and raise money for Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses.
